38 Dumbbell Exercises That You’ve Probably Never Seen
These movements will ignite your metabolism
But what about 20? Or 25? For most people—that may not be you, oh experienced one!—we think it’s doubtful.
In this video, Men’s Health Fitness Director BJ Gaddour,
C.S.C.S., provides 39 seriously unique ways to use a dumbbell. But these
exercises aren’t novel for the sake of being novel.
Each movement challenges your body in a beneficial way, whether
that's to engage your core more, better target weak spots, or simply
provide a new training stimulus, to speed results.
You won’t love all of them. And you’ll probably make a joke or two
when you see the “piston push-pull.” (You should!) But try it with a
20-pound dumbbell for 40 seconds straight. It’s no joke.
And that’s our advice for all of these exercises. Give them a shot.
Add them into your workouts and experiment. You may just find a new
favorite exercise. (Or maybe it’ll be two, three, or even 10!)
